Wayne and I have been blessed by having Joy as our daughter. She was a part of the East Main St. congregation of the Lord's people in Stockton, California from birth until she married. With awe we watched her mature into the brave and honorable woman that she is. Her ability to adapt to life in a third world culture has amazed us. I have often said that Joy is a better woman than her mother! Living in such a culture takes a special woman.
Joy is talented in many ways. She is a loving mother of four Christian children, two son-in-laws, and grandmother of two. She continues to be busy supporting her husband, George, as they work with the Hawesville, Kentucky congregation.
By this guest article you will learn much about her as she advises those who desire to be missionaries.
May you be blessed with increased appreciation for those willing to go abroad to spread the gospel If you have dreams of missionary work in other countries, be encouraged to follow them. But realize it isn't a romantic endeavor, but real work.
Always remember to be a missionary where you are!
